Our organization was founded by Dejr Bostick, a Marine veteran and entrepreneur, driven by a passion for empowering Black men through mental wellness and leadership development. After over 15 years in finance and strategic leadership, Dejr recognized the unique pressures faced by Black men in leadership roles and the lack of culturally relevant resources to support their mental well-being. Inspired by his own journey and the need for a safe space for Black men to explore mindfulness and emotional resilience, Dejr established Black Men Meditate in 2018 to fill this gap.
Since its inception, Black Men Meditate has grown into a trusted source for mindfulness and leadership growth, serving Black men across diverse industries and backgrounds. Dejr’s vision has led the organization to offer programs and resources that equip Black men with the tools they need to manage stress, navigate systemic challenges, and achieve emotional clarity. Through his work, Dejr has created a community where Black men can focus on both their mental health and professional development, making Black Men Meditate a vital force for change in the wellness space.
